AWS cloud administration is the daily work of running a company’s systems on Amazon Web Services. You create the network, the servers, the storage and the databases, then you keep them safe, backed up and sensibly priced. When something breaks at 2 AM, you are the one who finds out why.
This course teaches that work from the first login to real troubleshooting. You build one small company setup in your own AWS account, step by step: users and permissions, a private network, Linux and Windows servers, storage, DNS and a load balancer. Then you run it: monitoring, patching, backups, security checks and cost control.
One full phase is about SQL Server on AWS. You compare RDS with SQL Server on EC2, restore a real backup from S3, move a database with AWS DMS, set up Multi-AZ and read performance in CloudWatch Database Insights.
A big part of the course is troubleshooting. For each common problem you learn what to check, where to check it and how to fix it, from “I can’t connect to my server” to a DMS task stuck halfway. Every lesson has a “Break It, Then Fix It” lab, so you see the real error before you meet it at work.
What you need: a laptop, an AWS account and the AWS CLI. New AWS accounts get credits for practice, and every lab tells you what it costs and how to delete everything afterwards. Lesson 2 sets up a budget alert before you launch anything.
Who This Course Is For
- Freshers aiming for a first cloud support or cloud engineer job
- System admins moving servers and databases from the data centre to AWS
- SQL Server DBAs whose databases are moving to RDS or EC2
- Developers and support engineers who look after AWS accounts at work
- Anyone preparing for the AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate exam
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Set up a safe AWS account with MFA, budgets and least-privilege access
- Build a VPC with public, private and database subnets
- Run Linux and Windows servers on EC2 without opening risky ports
- Store, protect and back up data with S3, EBS and AWS Backup
- Run SQL Server on RDS and EC2, and migrate databases with native restore and DMS
- Monitor, patch and automate with CloudWatch and Systems Manager
- Troubleshoot step by step: what to check, where, and how to fix it
Why Learn AWS Cloud Administration?
Most companies now run at least part of their systems on AWS. They need people who can keep those systems running, not only build them once.
The questions at work are practical. Why can’t the app reach the database? Who changed this security group, and why did the bill double this month?
This course answers those questions in your own account. You use the console and the CLI, the way real teams check and fix things quickly.
- Get hired for cloud support, cloud engineer and CloudOps roles
- Fix connection, permission and performance problems by checking, not guessing
- Keep costs under control and avoid surprise bills
- Move SQL Server workloads to AWS with a tested plan
- Prepare for the CloudOps Engineer – Associate exam
