LED Indicators on Brocade Switch

Front Panel LEDs

The front panel of the Brocade switch has ports arranged in Quads. Each port features two LEDs:

  1. Status LED:
    • Glows when a cable is connected to the switch.
    • Green: FLOGI (Fabric Login) is successful.
    • Amber: FLOGI is unsuccessful.
  2. Speed LED:
    • Indicates port speed status.
    • Glows if the port is running at maximum speed.
    • Remains off if the port is not running at maximum speed (default state).

Rear Panel LED

The back panel of the switch contains a single LED at the center. The LED displays the overall system status based on the following conditions:

  • During boot:
    • Amber: The switch is in the process of booting.
  • Post-boot status:
    • Green: The switch has booted successfully.
    • Amber: Boot failure.
  • Fan status:
    • Green: Fans are functioning properly.
    • Amber: Fan malfunction detected.
  • Power supply status:
    • Green: Power supply is normal.
    • Amber: Power supply issue detected.

These LEDs provide a quick and intuitive way to assess the health and operational status of the Brocade switch.
